Knobloch, Schirmer qualify for all-conference team

A stroke here or there was all that kept Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn from earning its third War Eagle Conference girls’ golf dual victory. Remsen St. Mary’s hosted the final dual on May 6 and escaped with a 230-231 win.

Gracie Knobloch was top medalist with a round of 50 and Kinsey Schirmer was next at 52. Ava Dolphin shot a 63 and Kinley Sampson added a 66.

Josie Schwickerath (54) and Ava Garvin (57) were medalists for Remsen St. Mary’s.

The Hawks’ conference dual season record was 2-7, and their average score was 235.

Knobloch finished atop the WEC individual girls’ golf standings, amassing 129 points. Schirmer finished No. 4 with 110.5.

“These ladies have worked hard all year, and what an honor to have each of them repeat as first team all-conference players,” said Hawk coach Cheryl Kroese. “They continue to amaze me with their consistency in their game. Their hard work has definitely paid off.”

The Top 10 players with the most points qualify for the all-conference first team and the next 10 are included on the second team.

Ava Dolphin finished No. 49 overall with 30 points, Kinley Sampson was No. 54 with 21.5 and Kamrynn Visser was No. 57 with 10
