Marlys Rae Harris, 84, Olathe, Kan.

Marlys Rae Harris, 84, of Olathe, Kan., passed away Monday, June 3, 2024, at Olathe Medical Center.

She was born June 10, 1939 to Lawrence and Lillian (Trojahn) Klinker in Hartley. She married Arnold L. Harris on May 28, 1960, and they made their home in Omaha, Neb., then Salina, Kan. and finally Olathe, Kan.

Marlys enjoyed caring for her family and friends, bowling, square dancing, cards with friends, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Ladies Reading Circle, Wagstaff, St. James Court Committee, Bereavement Group, and participated in Bible study for 27 years.

Marlys is survived by her brother, Terry Klinker (Sue); children, Brenda Jones (Steve), Michelle Sagartz and Bradley Harris (Linda); grandchildren, Lindsey and Ryan; Matt, Anna, Jacob and Rachel; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Lillian; husband, Arnold; brother, Dennis; daughter, Kimberly; and great-grandsons, AJ and Kade.

A service in her memory was held Friday, June 7, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Olathe. Penwell-Gabel – Olathe Cremations, Funerals & Receptions assisted with the arrangements.
