Summer reading program at Hartley library

The Hartley Public Library is holding several events in conjunction with the summer reading program.

Thursday, June 20 will feature an audiobook and craft at 1 p.m.

O'Brien County Naturalist Lindsey Kleinhesselink will be at the library on Monday, June 24, from 10-11 a.m. Her program is titled "The Tale of the Tadpole."

A story and craft is planned for Thursday, June 27.

Adult summer reading challenge underway

An adult summer reading challenge sponsored by the Hartley Public Library will continue through Friday, July 5. Patrons can register at the library. Reading logs are due by Monday, July 1, and three winners will be drawn to win prizes.

Adults can also participate in a craft event on Saturday, June 22, from 10-11:30 a.m. Hanging beaded glass vases will be made.

The library's book club will meet on Tuesday, June 25, from 5-6 p.m.

HLC food pantry is each Wednesday

Current hours for the food pantry at Hope Lutheran Church in Everly are Wednesdays from 1-3 p.m. Everyone is allowed to come in and pick out their food.

Red's Catering in downtown Hartley will be serving a variety of specials on Wednesday, June 26.

Summer programs offered by O'Brien Co. Conservation

O'Brien County Conservation is offering several programs and activities this summer for participants of all ages.

Naturalist Lindsey Kleinhesselink will be at the Hartley Public Library on Monday, June 24, and at the Sanborn Public Library on Wednesday, June 26. Both programs will begin at 10 a.m.

Kleinhesselink will also present free programs at O'Brien County campgrounds on Friday, June 28. She will be at Douma Park from 1-2:30 p.m.; Mill Creek Park from 3-4:30 p.m.; and Dog Creek Park from 5-6:30 p.m.

Donations still being accepted for Hartley's new pool

Local businesses, individuals and community groups can still donate to Hartley's pool to get their names on a special donor brick wall.

Al Anon meetings

Al Anon meetings are held at the following locations each week:

Wednesday, 8 p.m., 511 Southmoor, Spencer; Thursday, 8 p.m., Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Royal; Sunday, 7 p.m., Sanford Medical Center, 118 N 7th Ave., Sheldon.

All are welcome to attend.

Hours at the Royal Public Library are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 3-5 p.m.; and Tuesday and Saturday, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
