Hawks lose final WEC game to Mustangs

Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn's last chance to win its second War Eagle Conference baseball game was spoiled by George-Little Rock, 2-0, on July 1 at George.

G-LR scored both runs in the fourth inning.

Jacob Cates was the starting pitcher and was tagged with the loss. He allowed four hits, walked one and struck out seven. Caden Douma gave up one hit and one walk while recording four strikeouts.

Lawton Schiphoff had two hits and Cates had one to account for the Hawks' offensive production.

H-M-S completes the 2024 slate of conference games with a record of 1-9.
