Brett T. Flynn, 31, Davenport

A funeral service in memory of Brett T. Flynn was held Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024, at Grace Fellowship Church in Hartley. Dr. Lynn Dau and Pastor Dave Van Kley officiated.

Pallbearers were Ryan Flynn, Eric Flynn, Cole Dickey, Levi Trenkamp, Kody Moehr and Patrick Charbonneau. Honorary pallbearers were Matt Lorenzen, Jared Henfrey and Heath Nagel. Interment was in St. John’s Cemetery at Emmetsburg. Hartley Funeral Home assisted with the arrangements.

Brett Thomas Flynn was born April 2, 1993 in Spencer, to Kenneth John and Connie Jo (Harson) Flynn, formerly of Emmetsburg. He spent his youth in Hartley, where he attended H-M-S High School and was involved in football, wrestling and baseball.

After graduating from high school in 2012, Brett furthered his education at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, where he would receive his Bachelor of Science in Finance in 2016. Following college graduation, Brett moved to the Quad Cities area to climb the corporate ladder, eventually becoming a mortgage loan office manager. His free time was spent hanging out with friends or enjoying a relaxing day on the golf course.

Known for his quick-witted sense of humor and his ability to talk to anyone, Brett could always bring a smile to the faces of those around him. Family was very important to him, and he would frequently use his vacation days to drive home to Hartley and Emmetsburg to play cards at the Flynn family farm, which was like a second home to him.

Brett passed from this life to his eternal home on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024, at the age of 31 years. He is lovingly welcomed by those who have gone before: his grandparents, Eugene and Arlene Flynn and Robert and Ruth Harson.

Keeping his memory close to their hearts are his parents, Ken and Connie Flynn; his brother, Ryan (Holly) Flynn; his sister, Meghan (Patrick) Charbonneau; two nieces: October and Willow Charbonneau; many other relatives and countless friends.
