Other local offices in Clay, Dickinson and Buena Vista counties to remain open
Those wishing to get in-person help with disaster-related assistance need to take note of three upcoming closings.
The FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) in Cherokee and Emmet counties closed permanently on Wednesday, Aug. 28. The DRC in O'Brien County will close permanently on Friday, Aug. 30 at 6 p.m.
O'Brien County's DRC is located in the Community Services Center in Sheldon, 416 Ninth St. Individuals who still need assistance after the closing may call the FEMA helpline at (800) 621-FEMA.
FEMA DRCs remain open at the locations listed below:
• Clay County: Spencer City Hall Council Chambers, 101 W 5th St.
• Buena Vista County: Sioux Rapids Municipal Pool, 201 8th St.
• Dickinson County: Dickinson County Expo Building meeting room, 1602 15th St., Spirit Lake.
FEMA representatives at each location can provide assistance to individuals seeking financial aid related to June's floods.
