Floods shorten Meadowbrook's Junior Golf Academy

A shortened 2024 Junior Golf Academy was held at the Meadowbrook Golf & Country Club June 11-12 with 26 young golfers attending. After just two days of learning, the event was rained out and subsequent flooding at the course made it impossible to complete the academy safely.

"We all enjoyed the junior golfers and saw a lot of good golfers in the group this year," said Julia Meyer, who helped lead instruction at the camp.

Valero Renewables – Hartley provided cookies for the two days the academy was in session. Several volunteers also contributed their time this year.

"We thank the parents and the kids for being understanding for the shortened academy this year," said Meyer. "We hope to see them all in the spring."
