Pipeline meetings planned locally
Summit Carbon Solutions started conducting its 23 public information meetings in late August.
Summit is proposing 14 new expansion laterals to tie in to their initial carbon pipeline proposed across nearly 700 miles of Iowa. The expansion routes will add another approximate 350 miles in Iowa.
The public information meetings are required in Iowa Code before the pipeline company can begin negotiations with landowners or conduct surveys. At these meetings it is anticipated the Iowa Utilities Commission will make a presentation and discuss Iowa Code 479.B, the Office of Consumer Advocate will explain what their role is, and Summit will present a slideshow, then the public will be invited to ask questions.
