Hartley fall cleanup day is Sept. 23
The City of Hartley will hold its annual fall cleanup day on Monday, Sept. 23. Each household is allowed the equivalent of a two-yard dumpster free of charge.
Regular weekly collection will occur at the same time as any additional refuse. See the ad on Page 4 for complete details and rules.
Open house planned at CFE lumber yard
Cooperative Farmers Elevator’s lumber yard in Hartley will host an open house showcasing its new Milwaukee tool line on Thursday, Sept. 19 (tonight) from 4-8 p.m.

New day for food distribution
Starting in September, the Food Bank of Iowa’s mobile pantry conducted at Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley will be held on the third Thursday of the month. This month’s distribution will be held on Thursday, Sept.19, starting at 4 p.m.
Adult programs at Hartley library
The Between the Covers Book Club will discuss Matt Parker’s non-fiction book, “Humble Pi,” on Tuesday, Sept. 24 from 5-6 p.m. at the library. Copies can be picked up at the circulation desk.

HLC food pantry
Current hours for the food pantry at Hope Lutheran Church in Everly are Wednesdays from 1-3 p.m. Everyone is allowed to come in and pick out their food.

Hours at the Royal Public Library are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 3-5 p.m.; and Tuesday and Saturday, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
