RCA Fall Boutique is Saturday

Royal Community Action will host its Annual Fall Boutique on Saturday, Oct. 19 at the CC/E Elementary Gym in Royal. More than 40 vendors will be on hand at the event.

Trunkity Treat at Trinity UCC in Hartley

Trinity United Church of Christ is hosting Trunkity Treat on Sunday, Oct. 27 from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. The event will be held inside, and youngsters should come dressed in their Halloween costumes with candy buckets.

Everly firefighters holding fall breakfast

The Everly Firefighter’s Association will hold its annual fall breakfast on Sunday, Oct. 27 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. The meal will be held at the fire station.

Proceeds will go towards the fire department’s new truck and other equipment.

Events at Everly Public Library

Talk with Christie at the Everly Public Library about new books at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17.

One Mile Monday is held at the library on Mondays at 10:15 a.m. The movie “Boxtrolls” will be shown at 12:30 on Oct. 21.

Chair yoga is held on Tuesdays and Fridays from 11 a.m.-noon, and mah jongg is played on Fridays at 12:30 p.m.

Regular open hours at the library are Mondays and Tuesdays, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and 5-7 p.m.; Thursdays, 5-7 p.m.; and Fridays, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Next blood drive in Hartley is Oct. 23

Help save a life by donating blood during a drive on Wednesday, Oct. 23. Donors can give blood from 12:30-5:30 p.m. at Trinity United Church of Christ, 140 North 5th Avenue East in Hartley. Please use the west entrance.

Book club to meet

Between the Covers Book Club will be discussing Ray Bradbury’s “The Halloween Tree” from 5-6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the Hartley Public Library. Patrons can request a loan of the book or download a copy through Libby or Bridges.

Feenstra staff to hold office hours in Hartley

Representatives from the office of U.S. Rep Randy Feenstra (R-Hull) will hold office hours in two area counties. They will be available to help constituents with casework relating to passports, veteran’s benefits, IRS issues and other federal programs.

“Helping Iowans resolve issues with the federal government is a top priority for me and my office. We stand ready to assist seniors with receiving their Social Security checks, veterans with navigating the VA, and families with getting their passports renewed,” Rep. Feenstra said, in a news release.

Iowans in the 4th District can also stop by Feenstra’s district offices, Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. in Fort Dodge, Council Bluffs and Sioux City, or visit Feenstra.House.Gov to submit a casework request.

Members of Feenstra’s staff will be in the following area counties. Rep. Feenstra will not be at the traveling office hours.

Food pantry on Wednesdays at HLC

Current hours for the food pantry at Hope Lutheran Church in Everly are Wednesdays from 1-3 p.m. Everyone is allowed to come in and pick out their food.

Regular hours at Royal library

Hours at the Royal Public Library are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, 3-5 p.m.; and Tuesday and Saturday, 9:30-11:30 a.m.
