Event kicks off at 9 a.m. in HS gym
A member of the Wisconsin Army National Guard will provide the keynote address Monday, Nov. 11 during a Veterans Day program at the H-M-S Event Center in Hartley. The service kicks off at 9 a.m., and the community is invited to attend.
Col. Jade E. Beehler is currently assigned as the J4 - Logistics Officer for the Joint Staff in the Wisconsin Army National Guard (WIARNG) in Madison, Wis. He recently served 2.5 years as commander of the 64th Troop Command Brigade for WIARNG.
Beehler began his military career by enlisting in the South Dakota Army National Guard in 1992. He completed 32 years of service in the National Guard as of this September.
As executive officer for the 152nd Combat Sustainment Support Battalion (CSSB), Pierre, S.D., he was activated for Operation Enduring Freedom at Kandahar Airfield in Afghanistan in 2013. After returning from deployment, Beehler commanded the 152nd CSSB and then served as deputy commander of the 196th Regiment - Regional Training Institute in Ft. Meade, S.D. Beehler transferred to WIARNG in December of 2021.
Beehler has held several other command and staff level positions during his long career. His major awards include: the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, National Defense Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with one campaign star, and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. He is a recipient of the Ancient Order of the Saint Christopher Medal.
Beehler is assistant principal at Spencer High School, where he has been employed since July of 2000. He and his wife, Julie, reside in Spencer, and have three children: Eric, Emily and Easton.
