• Charged with child endangerment
Tyler Techen, 37, of Primghar, was arrested by the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office on Nov. 1. The report stated that Techen, who is a registered sex offender, had assumed control of three children by watching them with no other adult present in the home.
Techen was charged with three counts of Child Endangerment-Registered Sex Offender, a class D felony. He was released the day after his arrest by posting a $10,000 cash or surety bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 22.
• Collide at intersection
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reported that Christopher Michael Cammann, 35, of Sanborn, was westbound on Highway 18/320th Street, at 6:27 p.m. on Nov. 5, when he stopped his 2023 Dodge Ram behind a semi tractor-trailer that was turning southbound on Oriole Avenue. A second vehicle driven by Riely Shawn Andringa, 20, of Sheldon was also westbound on Highway 18 and observed the Cammann vehicle was stopped.
Andringa stated that the brakes of his 2011 Chevrolet Silverado did not appear to function properly and he could not avoid colliding with the Ram. The Silverado then went off the roadway to the right and came to rest. The semi was not involved in the collision.
Cammann and Kaeson David Cammann, 12, were transported by Sanborn Ambulance to Sanford Sheldon Hospital with minor-incapacitating injuries. Andringa complained of pain or injury but was not transported. Damage estimates were $25,000 for the Ram and $20,000 for the Silverado.
