Changes coming to Hartley Family Care Clinic

Dr. Craig Simons joins local facility

Hartley Family Care Clinic recently announced several enhancements to its healthcare services beginning in January 2025. These changes reflect the clinic's ongoing commitment to providing accessible, high-quality healthcare to Hartley and the surrounding communities.

Dr. Craig Simons, DO, will be joining the Hartley Family Care team to see patients on several Thursdays each month. Dr. Simons is currently a hospitalist at Spencer Hospital and will now bring his expertise to the Hartley community.

A graduate of the University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Mo., Dr. Simons completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine. His addition to the team will expand access to care for Hartley Family Care Clinic patients.

Jamie Billings, ARNP, will continue to provide exceptional care as the clinic's primary provider. Billings sees patients four days a week, offering a full range of family practice services, including preventative care, treatment of episodic illnesses, chronic disease management, physicals and referrals to specialists. She specializes in diabetes management, cardiac issues and women's health. Billings is also a Certified Menopause Practitioner through North American Menopause Society.

"Access to quality healthcare in our region is a priority for Spencer Hospital and our clinics, including Hartley Family Care Clinic," said Brenda Tiefenthaler, Spencer Hospital president, in a news release. "To meet the healthcare needs of Hartley and the surrounding communities, we felt it was important to add an additional provider to care for patients."

In addition to family care services, Hartley Family Care Clinic also offers orthopedic consultations and physical therapy. Kaitlyn McDermitt, PA-C, from Northwest Iowa Bone, Joint & Sports Surgeons, will see patients once a month. McDermitt earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Kettering College in Kettering, Ohio, and specializes in orthopedic care.

The clinic is also pleased to welcome Joleen Stout, MPT, a new physical therapist who will see patients in Hartley and Spencer. Stout, a valued addition to Spencer Hospital's Physical and Rehabilitative Services team, is a familiar face in the Hartley community and looks forward to serving local patients.
