Book Club to meet at Hartley library
Between the Covers book club will hold their monthly meeting from 2-3 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 27. This month's selection is David Grann's "The Wager." Patrons can order a copy from the library or download one from Libby.

OC Conservation activities
Enhance your knowledge and connect with the natural world through the Senior Environmental Learning & Fellowship (SELF) program. Naturalist Lindsey Kleinhesselink will lead this adult-only initiative that includes a brief educational session paired with coffee and refreshments focused on adult conservation.
The complimentary program will explore a range of topics and will take place at two different locations. Programming dates are Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Prairie Heritage Center, and Thursday, Jan. 30, at the Sheldon Public Library. Both programs begin at 10 a.m.
Begin February enjoying inside and outside activities at Mill Creek Park Lodge, including winter crafts, a campfire, popcorn, hot chocolate, ice fishing and snowshoes. The event is planned for Saturday, Feb. 1, from 1-3 p.m.
All ages are welcome to come and go to this free event. All supplies are provided.
Eggs & Issues first session is Jan. 25
The Spencer Chamber of Commerce will host the first of three sessions with local state representatives on Saturday, Jan. 25. The forum will be held from 9-10:30 a.m. in the council chambers at Spencer City Hall.
Invited to attend are local house and senate representatives along with state and national government elected officials.
May City FD soup supper is Feb. 1
The May City Fire Department will host its annual soup supper fundraiser on Saturday, Feb. 1 at the fire station. A free will offering will be accepted.

Save the date for daycare fundraiser
The Hartley Community Daycare Center will host its annual fundraiser on Saturday, Feb. 22. This year's event will be carnival themed.

HLC food pantry
Current hours for the food pantry at Hope Lutheran Church in Everly are Wednesdays from 1-3 p.m. Everyone is allowed to come in and pick out their food.
